Week 60 - A Child of God (the Bonner family)

"In God’s kingdom, greatness and leadership means seeing others as they truly are—as God sees them—and then reaching out and ministering to them. t means rejoicing with those who are happy, weeping with those who grieve, lifting up those in distress, and loving our neighbor as Christ loves us,"

In preparation for Angelina's Baptism, we were with her almost every day. We had some more eating appointments and lessons with her and then all of a sudden she was baptized. It all just flew by. The whole program honestly all went wrong, but she didn't care. She was just happy to be getting baptized. Our friend Mathias came,, the ward just swarmed around him. Naturally. The boys a charmer.

When Angeliina came up out of the water, the smile on her face was just so big. After she got the gift of the Holy Ghost, the peace there was indescribable. The testimony that she shared after was very special. I remember when we first started teaching her she was too nervous to pray in front of us, and when we finally got her to do it, she could only do that by writing it down first. And then for baptism, she was able to share her testimony and just speak from the heart. It has been wonderful to see her grow with the gospel. She's more confident now and doesn't stress so much. She knows who she is.

She told everyone thank you and shared her story about how she came to find the church. She talked about how excited she was to join our new church family. And at the end, she said, "I am just so strongly convinced that this church is true. It has helped me so much and I have felt that it is true for such a long time," boom. Mic drop. It was bomb.

On the train home last Friday, she told us that as a child, she was bullied. I just remember feeling great compassion for her. That evening I discovered a kind of love that cannot be described. All I can say is I just know that what we do is of great value and importance. I am so so happy.

Earlier in the week we had a Facebook finding workshop with our district. Søster Webb and I made a super fun game to get the elders excited about it. It actually went great! Afterwards we had a district activity and had a campfire. It was way fun!

Welp, sadly I sent søster Webb home today. I'm gonna miss her! But I'm still in Slagelse with another old companion, søster Shults 😁 should be good, I'm excited!

I know God lives and loves us. I know that he places us in positions to bless others and grow. I know trials happen for a reason, and after trials come the blessings.

Elsker Jer!

Med Kærlige Hilsen,

Søster Felt
