Week 2 - When it Rains, It Pours

Sister Felt with Uncle "President" Mike and Aunt "Sister" Cami

“Yea the people of Nephi hath he loved, and also hath he chastened them; yea, in the days of their iniquities hath he chastened them because he loveth them,” -Helaman 15:3

This week has been a week of many lessons and much learning. Heavenly Father has shown our district that he loves us all enough to challenge us. If I’m being honest, the trials I have been experiencing here are not the trials I had expected. Nor are they the same as what anyone told me I would experience. But I love them, they are so perfect for me. I’m so glad God loves me enough to help me grow.

Also, This week I’ve been especially grateful for my sweet roomies, Sister Seeley and Sister McKeegan. Sister Seeley is going to Bulgaria and is a real life Disney princess. She is so kind and selfless. Sister McKeegan is going to Macedonia, has a contagious laugh, and she instantly becomes best friends with everyone she meets. They both love the gospel and are always there for me and Søster Hepworth when we are struggling. I love them so much.

Also also, I don’t know what the weather has been like in all of your corners of the world, but here in Provo, it Won’t. Stop. Raining. Just when the sun seems like it’s gonna start peaking out,, it’s raining againnnnnn. (I know, I know, training for Denmark).. the other night it even started hailing! But that actually ended up being a super fun night, because sister Hepworth and I sat by the window watching the storm and had some happy conversations. So I guess I’m actually thankful for the crummy weather 🤷‍♀️

Also also also, We taught two FOR REAL lessons in Danish yesterday. We just laugh at how they went, because if we don’t laugh we might cry! Haha jkkkkkkk it wasn’t that bad, I definitely learned that if Heavenly Father needs you to say something to someone, you’ll know he does and you’ll know how to say it. TungelmusgÃ¥ven! (Or the gift of tongues for all my unilingual peeps out there)

And for the most final also, I love you all so much. If your sad, and you’re thinking, “Why am I sad?” Please instead think, “What am I not doing? Have I been forgetting to read my scriptures? Have I been forgetting to love my neighbor?” *etc* and then whatever it is, do it! The cool part about the gospel is that the secret to happiness isn’t a secret. Heavenly Father has given us all of the instructions! All we have to do is follow them, I know that if you do you will be blessed with happiness ! Jeg elske diggggg!!!!

Week 1 - The Start of Something New

Hello Everyone!

Fear not, for I bring unto you glad tidings of great joy:
The mtc is truly a unique and happy place. Don’t get me wrong I am going and going and going constantly, but it’s great! I’m loving it all.

My companion is Sister Hepworth.
She is Russian and to be honest I’ve started to pick up her accent in my own speech quite a bit 🤣 so by the end of my mtc stay I’ll probably sound more like a mob boss than a sister missionary, but hey it is what it is🤷‍♀️ She is also very sincere and kind to everyone. She worked really hard to be able to come out here and serve, her mission means everything to her.
She and I have a lot of fun together. For example, the other day it was pouring rain and as we left our residence to go exercise, a stray cat bolted into the building. We ended up being super late cause we were chasing it around the whole building lol.

We have a lot in common but we also are different enough to help each other. She helps me relax and let loose a bit and I help her stay on task haha. She also makes me sing in the choir but I make her go hard with me during exercise time. It evens out.
My district is composed of Søster Hepworth and I,,,, and six elders.

It’s the best! And the worst! Haha we love them but they can get a little rambunctious sometimes.
I love learning Danish so much.
It can be very challenging, but as the iconic American hero Elle Woods once said, “I’m not afraid of a challenge.” It is difficult, but I can feel the Holy Ghost helping me as long as I work diligently. My second day here I was able to say my first prayer in danish. It was far from perfect but it was much better than it should’ve been. I wish I could brag and say that I’m just that smart, but I would be lying if I did. I know that the only reason the language is coming like it is is because of the power of the Holy Ghost. Heavenly Father just loves his children so much and I see it here everyday. We are all so blessed.

If I could send just one message to you all it would be that God loves you. He blesses you every day. He sent his son for you. Just know that you are never forgotten, and that you are essential to his plan. Have a wonderful week my dear friends, keep Christ in your hearts and a smile on your face.
Love,
Søster Felt
