Now presenting another google translated email that was orginally written for my president because I'm too lazy to write another one, this weeks is dedicated to the old lady that held her beer up and cried "cheers!" In Danish as she passed us talking to another old lady who couldn't keep her hands out of her pants:
This week was good. Sister Webb and I were able to have three lessons with our friend Angeliina, and we have to try to do it with her every week. Since deciding that she would like to be baptized, she has made great progress. We can sense a change just this week.
It has been amazing to teach her. The spirit is always so strong and we just know that God communicates directly with her. It sometimes just feels too easy. She has no problem with commands and just believes in everything we say. She's just so prepared.
In our lesson on Sunday, she said she is much better at prayer right now. When we asked her about it she said that she prayed once and could feel a great comfort. She felt and showed that she was not alone. She said she knew there were many people who had prayed in the past who were there to support her.
She also cried a lot through the sacrament meeting because she was so touched. It was so wonderful. The song How Firm a Foundation hit her way strong. (That's my favorite hymn!!!)
Oscar dropped us off, but we got a new friend. His name is Mathias and his friend (who is not a member) actually referred him to us over Facebook. He very nice and nervous to meet with us but had many questions and said he will pray.
The lesson with him went great except for the homeless guy who kept interrupting to tell us that Jesus isn't real and to ask Mathias why he doesn't just get up and walk. Real nice thing to say to a paralyzed person.
We also did service for sweet Pia. She was very excited to see us there and made us homemade flødeboller. She also invited her single son over. Oof. We actually ended up giving her a BoM and shared a thought with her. We're hoping that we'll be able to start teaching her this week.
Oh and I got interviewed by a journalist this week because i made a post about how my ancestors are from Denmark and I'm looking for living relatives. They're writing an article about it and have called a lot wanting me to be on their tv program their gonna make. Anyways it sounds really cool but something feels a bit fishy about it sooo ima talk to my president and see.
This week in my personal study I read Alma 26. I particularly liked these verses:
"And now, my brethren, what natural man is there that understandeth this? I say unto you, there is none that understandeth this, except the repentant.
22 Yes, he who repents and practices faith and produces good deeds and continually prays without ceasing - such is it given to knowing the secrets of God; indeed, such must be given to reveal that which has never been revealed; yes, and it must be given to bring thousands of souls to repentance, just as we have been given to repent of our brothers, "
What struck me was that it is not the perfect people who should receive the promised blessings, but the ones who repent.
I also thought about how it is a firm promise to finally "bring thousands of souls to repentance". I don't know what it really means, but I know God doesn't lie. Maybe it will be in Denmark, at home with friends, our own children, or in the spirit world. But if we repent, practice faith, and do good deeds, we will be able to obtain the promised miracles.
Thank you for everything! Have a nice week.
mkh,
Søster Felt
P.S. Will someone please listen to the song "Just to See You Smile," by Tim McGraw for me? It's been in my head like all week.
