"I see friends shaking hands saying, how do you do, they`re really saying I love you,"
Where to begin
So we start with the highlight: All mission Christmas conference in Fredericia. We played games, ate delicious food, and literally had the most fun nogensinde. And if that wasn't enough, we got to watch the new Lion King! And, as if THAT wasn't enough, president Olsen decided to drop a bomb on us. (Classic president Olsen). That is that he will be making sure that from next transfer on there will be a set of sisters in Iceland. !!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah I know I died. The plans are that they will send two sisters up (called to Denmark to speak Danish) and there they will work in English and Danish (not in Icelandic hehe we are lucky potatoes)(that language is whack) and he will switch them out every transfer. He told us that many of us will get the chance to go see the beautiful country. Now of course, I would love to spend a transfer or two on Iceland. What a scheme. But there's a good chance I'll spend the remainder of my mission on good old Denmark, and if that's what the Lord wants, I'm happy with it. #sayituntilitbecomestrue.
So yeah. That was lit.
AnD tHeN
We came home and continued on with some good, old fashioned, back-bone givin', elbow greasin', missionary work. Gotta love it. Now that I'm training, I've been doing a lot of the speaking. And my throat has been KILLING ME. Like c'mon I can only hold this potato in my throat for so long. Occasionally I get tired, and I want to take the potato out, but unfortunately I cannot do that. Speaking Danish without the potato is just Swedish. And we are not here for the Swedes. Unless they have Swedish fish.
Sorry, off topic.
With it being Christmas time sister Paras and I have tried our luck in giving out wrapped copies of the Book of Mormon and Caroling. We gave out ten in the past couple of days !!! I love how open and kind people have been with it being Christmas time. I'm scared for January lol.
We forgot to take pictures but theres this little room in our apartment that we dont use for much,,, so we have decked it out as our cozy hygge room. And now, its our cozy CHRISTMAS hygge room. We love curling up by the heater with blankets and a danish treat and the Book of Mormon videos. Søster Parass mom sent us the 12 days of Christmas so we also open a gift together every night! Love our squishy mother daughter bonding time
Dont forget to think about Jesus this Christmas. To be honest, being out here is really really hard. It is cold and wet and dark. I am really tired. People arent very nice. Danish is kind of difficult. But because of Jesus Christ, I am not only able to survive it, but I can by happy as I am surviving it. Any strengths or successes I have can all be credited to him. I cant tell you how many "I dont know if I can do this anymore" prayers I have said, but I can tell you that with each Amen, I was filled with a peace and a strength to keep going that I know could only come from my Savior. He is the greatest gift. The gift that was, is, and ever will be the most priceless-and yet free to all. He is my best friend.
Merry Christmas! Glædelig jul!

Week 31 - Chillin' on a Dirt Road
Hej med jer
I was going to do the subject line as "sweet child of mine" because, I have a child, but like, after the wonderful week and pday we have had, that song only seemed fitting.
This week was insane. ((if only I had a dime for everytime I read that in a missionaries weekly email)). But really though. I spent the first two days basically just waiting for my trainee to get here so I was just babysat by other companions for quite a while. Went on Elder splits for like half a day-which was interesting- and then followed the stl's and a dying missionary around Copenhagen just having fun. We went to Tivoli's (the super dope amusement park in københavn) and ate Christmas treats. #missionfatforevigt
And then I got my child. Søster Paras. Who is literally so legendary.
She is a total hick and knows all the right country songs. She already knows how to work hard and lovessss the gospel. Oh yeah, and she's an Aggie #represent. So I'm just teaching her how to have fun here and there and how to speak Danish (both of those things are much more difficult than they sound but we are thriving still). But yeah, we're homies.
Today, she and I went out to teach some homies in Skjern, a city on the west coast of Jylland. These people are so positive, so we have driven out there twice now. We DIED over the beautiful countryside, and since it was pday, we decided to check out the ocean out there as well. So fun. They fed us æbleskiver and gløgg.
Basically I love my life and I love Denmark and most of all I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel like Will Ferrel in Elf in that scene where he hops around and yells "I'm in love! I'm in love! And I don't care who knows it!" except I'm like in love with how happy the Spirit makes me or something cheesy like that.

Week 30 - Bet on It
Funniest Quotes of the Week:
"We spent 6 hours finding today and we didn't make any progress! If anything we DIGRESSED spiritually by breaking the word of wisdom!"
- søster Semadeni, in reference to the interesting drink we were given on someone's doorstep that could've been tea
"Do you think emperor Kusko is more attractive as a human or a llama?"
- Søster Smith, on splits
"Make sure you all meet together soon to give sister Felt information on your friends as she is the only one that will be staying after we close Hammerum...and Søster Felt, to make your life easier, I'll be sending you a new missionary. Fresh from the states,"
-President Olsen, over the phone; clearly on some form of expired medication and/or has lost his sanity entirely
Yeah so that's what's up. Things are good and I am alive,, have a great week!

Week 29 - It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like...
Halløjså! Og god juletid!
Hungarian Horntail: Our friend Katinka is straight up a miracle. We met with her twice this last week and both lessons went really well. The spirit was so strong. At this point, she has been setting up her own meetings with us and sending US reminders🤤 She came to church on Sunday and LOVED it. She wants to join the church when she moves back to Hungary on the 10th so we found the church building she will go to and we're working to hook her up with the missionaries in her hometown in Budapest. I love seeing how much joy this has brought her in just one week!! I can't wait for her to be taught more in her language and gain the blessings.
We've got frienddsssss (in high places): Carmen's lesson went super well she and her boi are quite interested. We have been taking really slow (as the spirit has guided) and she remains really positive!
Just goes to show we aren't here to drag people to baptism. The Lord prepares his people, it's up to them to choose to come receive the blessings.
God Bless America: For Thanksgiving I ate McDonald's. I even left the pickles on my Burger to show God that I was thankful for vegetables. Jk I was just too lazy to take them off. It was a good Thanksgiving dinner.
But I'd Rather be in my Library reading Science Books all day: We had a mission-wide conference this week, Ældste Kapishke and his wife came (our area seventy) and spoke to us. A common theme throughout was the importance of studying and using the Book of Mormon. It's been on my mind a lot lately. Studying isn't just a good thing, it's a commandment! Just think of the examples, "Learn of me..." or "seek ye learning out of the best books," and the list goes on. Knowledge is one of the most valuable things we can gain in this life, as it is one of the few things we can carry with us to the next. Get studyin' folks!!
Welp,, that appears to be all my little fingers can bare to type as of now. So, I hope you have a great week! Jeg elsker dig!
1 tul plus 1 tul equals two-tulssss!!!!

Week 28 - Hearts on Fire
Oh hey.
Friends and family, it was a good week. You wanna know why? BECAUSE WE FOUND SOMEONE.
Oh my gosh I can't even tell you how happy I am. Her name is Carmen and she is so prepared. Sister Semadeni knocked on her door the other day when I was on splits in Vejle. She invited us to come over and had her bible all ready and told us about her religious background. She grew up catholic, but didn't really practice it. Her mom would let missionaries in all the time growing up so she is very comfortable with us coming and talking!! We of course have a long way to go, but it just seems so promising! She told us, "I believe in God, there's just some things in the scriptures I dont totally understand yet. I would love to get your help with that. I just ask so many priests about the same part of the Bible and they all have completely different answers, how can I find out what is true?" skchskksnznskaakhxhis yeah keep her in your prayers. And me. My heart is on the line. We have a return appointment for this week, we're hoping it goes well to say the least.
We have also found a couple other potential friends that might be meeting with us very soon!! The find grind is finally starting to pay off *knock on wood* Søster Semadeni and I celebrated the evening after Carmen's lesson by making some de-litchoussss curry and mango smoothies. It was a fun night.
Ohhh and on Wednesday the sun came out and shined for a good TWO HOURS!!! the sky was so blue and the light on my face ugh it was too good. Definitely a blessing.
On Sunday I tried translating and ohhhh my gosh it was so bad lol fat rip. Definitely the joke of the week.
So yeah this week was good. We are, still, out here vibin'. Har det godt. Jeg elsker dig!

Week 27 - We Built this City
Halløjså familie og venner! Jeg håber I alle har det godt. Jeg ville meget gerne invitere jer til at kig på den små velsignelser du har denne uge:) og set pris på dem!!
Splits with in Vejle: Went on Splits in Vejle with my used to be trainer/new sister training leader sister Webb on Wednesday. It was supppeerrr fuunnnn. I loved being able to contact with her now that I can actually be apart of the conversations lol. It was cool to see how we've both changed for the better in the past couple months and just send it in the work ya know?
Timothy? Present: Okay this was hands down my favorite part of the week. So the Elders in Skive got invited to be a part of a "religion day" at their local high school. President Olsen asked us to join them to hold a booth where we could answer questions and pass out book of mormons. So we went with the other sisters and to our surprise we were actually expected to give a full on presentation on our church which literally none of us were prepared for. (But on a more spiritual sense, we were more prepared than a eagle scout😏). Lol but seriously scary. So here we are, this room full of kids, and us six missionaries. Two new in the mission struggling with Danish, one with a crippling fear of public speaking, one with a speech impediment, and one fresh from Iceland trying to figure out what talking even is. So after stumbling through some rocky beginnings, basically every head turns to me. I'm like "well hello boys and girls,, hope your ready for the presentation that will change your life," (in a Danish and in a more professional way of course) as the elders write the name of our church on the board behind me in crappy handwriting. Lol it was literally all of these old people with big official presentations and then us six, literally the same age as the audience, with a book of mormon and a testimony. Actually perfect. The dude chilling at the projector wanted to know how to get to our slide show and I was just like, "oh no that won't be necessary" I played it off like a power move when really we just didn't have our lives together at this point hahaha.
So I just taught about our churches background and Joseph Smith's vision of God and Jesus Christ. I then talked about why it was so important- and talked about Gods great plan for us. The other sisters jumped in and helped a bunch and it went really well. We did it 3 more times with different groups and loved it!! They asked us great questions, some of my favorites were,
"So I've heard what you guys don't do because you're Mormon, but what DO you do because you're Mormon?"
"You kept saying God communicates personally with us, how does that feel? What is it like?"
"So what happens when you as Mormons make mistakes? What can you do to get back from it?"
Great questions. Maybe ones you all can think over this week too!;)
Viking Cemetery: We had a mission-wide mandated 3hr fun fest on Thursday in celebration of achieving our mission goal of helping 50 souls come closer to Christ through the waters of Baptism this year. President Olsen is a big believer in "rejoicing and giving thanks when we are blessed" and as a result stated that missionary clothing would be "strictly prohibited" during those 3 hours and instead "cowboy pants" (🤣?) Would be required. So us and the missionaries nearby showed off our finest and only pairs of Jean's and went to a Viking Cemetery in Aalborg. Super fun. We also ate dinner (hosted by some too-kind members) at the church there with some wayyyy good Danish food. Sausage, cabbage, potatos, the works. You know, gotta have that hearty food that will fatten you up and keep you warm in these insane winters.
Rule #1, There are no rules: We got a new Missionary Handbook this week! For those of you who aren't familiar, our classic white handbook held the rules, guidelines, and instructions set in place to help us stay happy and safe as missionaries. It can seem really restrictive, but I have learned that the more we give to the Lord the more he will give us in return. So anyways, in the old white handbook, things were spelled out and lines were drawn very clearly. Very do this, dont do that etc etc. But the new one, which is titled, "Mission Standards for disciples of Jesus Christ," is much more open. It advises us to follow the spirit and do our best to serve God with all our might, mind, heart, and strength. I love that. It gives us much more freedom and, as we learn in the scriptures, "unto whom much is given, much is required,":) if we can focus our efforts on giving God the MOST we can, rather than the least we can, I know we will be blessed for our efforts and grow immensely. "For he that loses his life for my sake shall find it," :)
Taste of Home: Søster Semadeni and I bought some wayyyy cheap chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream from a sketch grocery store the other day. They were full of preservatives and didn't taste very good. It was so American I loved it so much!!!!!! We pigged out.
I tried to make æbleskiver this morning. They were flippin' hard. In that, I mean that flippin' them was the hard part. *old guy in the audience has a heart attack because he is laughing so hard at my clever remark* *paramedics can't get there in time* *we hold a lovely funeral for him later that week*
Anyways, I hope you all had a good morning. And, in case I dont see ya, good afternoon, good evening and goodnight 🤟

Week 25 - I Will Survive
"Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory." -2Timothy 2:10
Hello peeps. This email is going to be difficult to write considering all we did was find this week. Again.
It was cold. Wet. And dark. I'm dying lol.
The temperatures dropped and the wind picked up after October ended. And then there's the death mist,, or this fog that's constantly keeping a thin layer of moisture on ya. Eheshshshshhs I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it. The sun starts setting at about 4:45,, so we got to stack our studies in the evening and take advantage of the light half of the day as best as we can. All of the bars and restaurants just started selling their seasonal Christmas beers (?) so most of the people that are out are slightly if not completely intoxicated.
Søster Semadeni and I might be going slightly insane. Pray for us haha. When we do our daily planning, where we determine what our schedule for the next day will be, we find joy in deciding what time we would like to have lunch. *eye twitch*. Our new motto is "laugh so you don't cry".
We are doing great though hahaha I think. The good news is she and I are like best friends and we both love to talk so we make the long stretches fun. We tell a lot of stories (mostly reenacting our favorite books/movies/TV shows), have a lot of deep gospel discussions, and fail to restrain ourselves from the Christmas pastries. On paper this probably should be my hardest transfer yet, but I don't think I've ever laughed as hard in my life as I have in the past couple of weeks.
We did meet one person who seemed pretty positive yesterday. He said he could be interested in learning more about God and gave us his phone number, we're praying he'll meet with us.
We taught the (two) Youth in the branch yesterday. Super fun. We hope they ask us to teach again.
Each evening after we finish our work for the day søster Semadeni and I treat our new found obsession. Brackets. Brackets? You make say, in a puzzled tone. Yes, brackets. I would respond, confidently, yet casually. I would then further explain that we pick a topic of some form of media, and then after a thurrough critical analysis and examination we find which one is the best. And yes, I will publish the results.
Best Disney movie: Lion King
Best Disney Princess: Cinderella
Best Disney Prince: Prince Charming
Most Evil Disney Villian: Evil Queen (still bummed about that one, its definitely Scar)
Best not disney children's movie: How to Train Your Dragon
Best Barbie Movie: The Princess and The Pauper
Results for best Marvel Hero pending. Will be published next Monday.
This week I'd like to invite you all to take the time to pray about and ponder what questions you need to find answers for in your life. Sometimes its easy to just be satisfied and comfortable, but God doesn't want us to plateau. Find questions so that you can have something to work on, or work towards. And if you feel like it, let me know how it goes😘
I know that through God nothing is impossible. I know that through Jesus Christ, he will help us find answers to questions, learn how to love our uncooperative neighbor, and even learn a new language. We just need to have the faith and the willingness to act. Put in the work. Pray specifically to achieve your righteous desires. For with God, nothing shall be impossible.
Have a wonderful week,, be excellent to one another.
Jeg elsker dig

We just need to have the faith and the willingness to act. Put in the work. Pray specifically to achieve your righteous desires. For with God, nothing shall be impossible.
Have a wonderful week,, be excellent to one another.

Week 24 - Shake it Off
Hey hey hey
As promised, an update on the transfer situation:
Life? Its gooood. My new comp Søster Semadeni is a straight up baller. She is also from Cache Valley, sings like a bird, and loves ice cream so much she is this 👌close to breaking the second commandment. Jk, there is no idol worshipping in Herning.
But on the real though, she is stellar. Loves the gospel. Loves the work. Loves the people. Such a great missionary, plus she is really good at cooking #thriving. We have a lot of fun and I am grateful for that. We work hard, we play hard, what more could you want?
I like Herning, missionary work is a little trickier when it comes to always having people to talk to, there were just always a ton of people out during my time in København. But on the flipside, people are a lot more relaxed and friendly. So conversations come a lot easier. There's pros and cons to every area.
The branch is amazing. I was a little nervous for church at first, it stressed me out quite a bit in my old area. But within the first five minutes in the building I had already been greeted with so much love, hugs, and smiles that I knew I was in a good place.
About 30 people came to the meeting. The majority of the group is composed of cute old ladies and a couple young families. Then there's a bunch of different aged men and women who are also fantastic. We have 12 children in primary, 1 in young women's, and 1 in young men's. There's also a couple of young adults up here for school. One of them, Frederik, was baptized on Saturday!! Whicchhhhh reminds me that I need to explain that there is another set of Sisters missionaries in our branch. They work in another area but do quite a bit of contacting on the same street as us, so we run into them a lot. It is. So. Fun. We eat dinner together often, have splits every week, and we are planning on carving pumpkins together with them this evening #sisterwifeswag
Oof side note, the other day when I was on splits with Søster Smith (one of the sisters close by)(loves sparkles, pink, and is basically Elle Woods) WE DROVE THROUGH THE END OF A RAINBOW. I'm not even kidding. We felt like precious pots of gold. Now we're just hoping that no small, redheaded men, dressed in green come kidnap us out of our beds as we sleep. Hehe.
Yeahhh other than that and branch activities we come to support the work has been slow. Lots of going out talking to people and no lessons. We got a total of one phone number this week...he hasn't responded yet..... that's okay! We'll find somebody. Keep that in your prayers. We're prepping ourselves for a whole lot of find grinds and praying for the energy they require. I'm super tired lol. #taknemmeligforvinebrød
The language has really been picking up for me lately and it had been so nice. God must have a reason for it because I know it's all because of him.
I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I know he suffered every pain, sorrow, and heartbreak. I know that he, through his death, not only made the plan possible, but that he lives today! I know be can help you with what you're struggling with. I know that growing closer to him is how we find true, lasting happiness. I know we grow closer to him by loving and serving others.
Have a great week! Jeg elsker dig!

Week 23 - Night Changes
Joooooo halløjså min kære familie og venner🙌
I hope all is going well with y'all.
This week has been straight up insane.
First off, I'm disappointed in you all. You didn't pray hard enough and now I am leaving Lyngby.
Jk.
I'm not disappointed in you all but I actually am getting transferred (#Godswill)(#spreadthelovelikepeanutbutter). Yup I am headed to Jutland. Tomorrow morning I am headed off to my new area, Herning, and to my new comp søster Semideni.
Have I reason to be nervous? Let us evaluate the facts and find out.
Reasons to be nervous:
- Not only leaving Lyngby, but leaving to a whole other zone. Leaving my dear island of sjælland and headed to Jutland.
- Do they speak Danish on Jylland? They do in fact. Is it a whole other kind of Danish where the words are pronounced differently and people have different accents? It is in fact.
- I'm peacin' out of that ward life and headed to a tiny branch in the midst of farmland and I don't know how I'm gonna find people when I'm not in the big city
- I have never been there before. And neither has my new companion. Because we are opening the area. Starting from scratch as one might say.
- Welp technically we are re-opening the area. There used to be Elders there a while ago but they had to be emergency transferred out after an accidental run-in with the Mexican drug cartel. Long story.
Reasons to not be nervous:
-I've got the Lord on my side
In conclusion: I am not nervous.
Maybe I'm acting in faith? Maybe I'm just super in denial? Idk probably both. Either way, as much as I love Lyngby and am sad to be leaving, I am legit stoked. The adventure continues as they say.
As far as how this week has been... søster Shults and I have been battling some blank days. We're learning how to creatively make use of the two course meal of a lot of nothing and time that has been heaped on to our plates. After some prayers and a whole lot of knocking,, God blessed us with some stuff to do.
Temple with Isabella: On Friday we went to do baptisms at the temple in Copenhagen for Isabellas first time! She brought her grandparents and great-grandparents names. It was way cool. She's starting to get way passionate about family history work and has also mentioned a mission a couple of times...we all need to step up our game. I was way happy to do baptisms and confirmations in Danish. I did the work for a bunch of people from Bornholm and Iceland. And you know what? I could understand it! #babysteps.....I also got to be a witness when Isabella was baptized #thefutureisfemale #blessup
Service: On Wednesday the Elders in another area called and asked if we could come help with some service at this ladies house. When we asked them what we would be doing, they replied, "we don't know, she just said she really needed help cleaning in preparation for guests," so we were like okay cool we think we can squeeze that in to our intense schedule. When we got to her house... oh my gosh. Let's just say I was grateful for the path that had been carved out of the mountains of stuff everywhere. We somehow got the kitchen cleaned out (with lots of trips to the garbage bins outside).
How about our friends? Shao is doing good I hope,, we haven't heard much from him since our last lesson but he is working on all of his big project stuff for school so forhåbentlig that's all. Haven't heard from Laura in a while, trying to make contact. Christian told us he didn't want to speak with us anymore. We started teaching this new girl Lana though! Some missionaries met her in another city here on sjælland and gave us her number. She is from Croatia and is legit the sweetest person on planet earth. She brought us chocolates for our first lesson with her. Sad to be leaving these sick homies of mine but God's got em so it'll be okay.
Welp I'll be sure to let you all know what my new area is like next week! Keep me in your prayers and have a great week!

Week 22 - The Climb
"Life's a climb, but the view is great,"
-Travis (from the groundbreaking film; hannah-montana-the-movie-2008) aka min fremtid man
Moon-eyed Margo: Søster Shults and I were knocking some houses close by our apartment and this seriously beautiful cat followed us around the whole evening. She had these gorgeous bright green/gold eyes. I called her Margo:) if it wasn't for the fact that Søster Shults doesn't like animals I would have brought her home to live with us.
Spiser ikke frugten: We got to go through the temple on Wednesday! It was really cool to do a session in Danish. That really is the place where we can be the closest to heaven here on earth. Miss it so much.
Transfer Skeme: transfers are this Saturday...and I have been dreading it because I freaking love Lyngby and because of that I've felt like the Lord is gonna send me to another place you know because life can't be THIS good all the time. I dont wanna move!!! This primary girl in the ward ran up to me with a fortune teller yesterday,, and after choosing a color and some numbers... she opened it, looked me dead in the eyes,, and said, "Du skal flytte dig!" Which means- you're gonna move. RIP. Søster Shults was dying. So yeah basically if you're gonna pray for something pray that this girl isn't some freaky nine year old Danish profettess.
Two Snakes in One: Satan tried to pull a fast one on me this week. He found my kryptonite, my e-kill-ees (thats right i have no idea how to spell or say that word) heel, my greatest wordly weakness. Thats right, Taylor Swift. I miss music so much. Like, so much. I heard a small taste of Taylor Swifts song "Lover" for the first time the other day, it was the worst thing in the world. We were trying to contact someone and the song was just pouring out of there house trying to fill my ears and I was trying to focus on danish and teaching about where the book of mormon came from. The sweet dreamy melody tried to pull me into a daze but I fought the pull with all my might and focused on the task at hand. A triumph for the kingdom of God I would say. Not today Satan.
The House Matters: Søster Shults is obsessed with Harry Potter and basically we spend every moment trying to decide what house everyone we know is in. I, of course, am a hufflepuff. She is a ravenclaw. I would love to know what house y'all are. Please shoot me an email about which house you belong to and what brought you to that conclusion if you feel so inclined.
De-feet-tion by Bicycle: Well actually a more accurate description would be a de-foot-tion. But, for lack of better pun, you're all just going to have to live with that title. If I'm really honest this is the kind of story one should keep from your mother until you're already home. Nevertheless, because I believe you can learn something from my mistakes, I feel compelled to share the following with you all. Close your eyes mom. In the past couple of days, I had some anxiety about a few small and insignificant things that happened in the mission. Because of that, I had trouble focusing on the work and just trusting the Lord. I let myself get caught up in a snare of self-concern and worry. I woke up Thursday morning with the same worries on my mind and a pounding heart in my chest. I thought to myself, "okay, I gotta get rid of this anxiety," and suggested to søster Shults that we should go for a run. Because of my worries, my mind was in another place as we ran. I was not very aware or observant and blindly followed sister Shults on that dark morning jog. Mistake. We were checking out apartments we were thinking about knocking. As we crossed the street and bike path- I was hit by someone going way fast on a bike. I dont remember much about what happened or how he both fell, but I remember getting up and feeling very worried for the man on the ground. He was okay, miraculously, and very forgiving. But as the day went on my right foot began to ache more and more and I could not put weight on it. That terrified me. I wasn't in a terrible amount of pain, but you can't do missionary work if you can't walk. I had to stay in that day to give my foot some time to just get better. My mind reflected over all the possibilities of what could be wrong-and what could go wrong, when-as one as over dramatic as myself does-I imagined the worst case scenario-that is, my foot is injured enough that I need to go home to recover. Boy did that thought scare the daylights outta me. I said a lot of sincere prayers and had time to ponder over the things that had been worrying me. And you know what? There was nothing to ponder. I didn't care about all of those little things I was worried about anymore. I just wanted to be okay and be on my mission. I realized why I want to be here, how important this is to me, and how heartbreaking it would be to have to leave. And I didn't care about the small details that just plan don't matter. So yeah, God hit me with that gratitude bike that day. But hey maybe you guys can all learn from my mistakes and remember the bigger picture before having to get hit by a danish man on a bike. Instead of worrying so much about a disagreement with a loved one, try and remember how much they mean to you and how hard it would be if you didn't have them in your life. Instead of internally grumbling over how boring/unfun your job is, thank God that you have a means to provide for your family. Etc etc. (Btw my foot is fine I'm just I'm a dramatic soul sometimes).
We had a way good lesson with Shao yesterday. We taught him about Christ and who he is and why he is important. It was really cool to teach someone who had never learned about him before. Very humbling. We are so lucky to have a knowledge of who he is.
Welp, I hope my weekly was entertaining enough for you all. If not, I'm sorry it is all my tired little fingers have to offer.

Week 21 - Clean
General Konferance: As always, so good, but not as always SO SHORT. Like since when does conferance only take two minutes?? We watched the Saturday morning session at an inactive members home and the sunday morning session at the mission home with President Olsen and his family. Because of the time difference the afternoon sessions are too late for us to watch, but we'll catch up on them eventually.
Elsa Couldn't Let it Go because Scandinavian winter is so dark and cold you forget you even exist: Okay the title probably sums it up but, I can't even describe how cold it is here. The wind, the humidity, the rain, rip my fingers. The worst part is its only Oktober,, so just the beginning. When I first got to Denmark it was summertime, and when we'd stop people on the streets and ask them what they were thankful for, a lot of them would say the sun. Well I didn't realize it until now but like,,, that's actually a BIG thing. Be grateful for the sun! Everytime it comes out Danes and missionaries sing hallelujah.
Life is pretty good in Lyngby. I love the missionary work a lot. We have quite a few people to teach which is a such a blessing and lots of potential friends. I'm working on getting all my winter gear stocked up before it's too late and trying to not to overeat as one tends to do with lack of sunlight and freezing temperatures.
We have had a lot more eating appointments with members as of late (because this is the time of year that you eat and hygge together indoors) and getting to know all of the members and eating Danish food in the candle light is probably one of my favorite Danish things ever. You just leave feeling so cozy and loved.

Søster Olsen brought us a vitamin D light and we are required to sit precisely ten inches away from it for 30 minutes everyday so that we can have energy throughout the day and not get depressed.

| Out with members |
Isabella's Dåb: Um yeah, okay, BEST. DAY. EVER. Isabella got all of her "young single adult" member friends to come a long with her friends that don't have any association to the church (well I guess now we can say, didn't;). There were also a lot of missionaries from all over Sjælland that were able to come with the people they're teaching. Also our friend Laura came. Also also, Isabella asked Felix to be the one who baptize her. Felix is about 23, he was baptized in Søster Shults old area and received the priesthood about a month ago. So basically, it was one big meeting full of young people.
Isabella asked President Olsen (Our mission president) to speak about baptism before she was baptized. So,, you know what he did? The man stood up there and taught about the first principles and ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Namely, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the end. Yep that's right, he taught about them simply and explained that the secret to happiness isn't a secret and that all were welcome to come and see- with all of our friends listening intently from their seats. What. a. legend. Every missionary who wasn't there with their friends later heard about it and wished they were. Meget sejt.
After,, Mikala Olsen (President's daughter and one of Isabella's close friends) sang, I am trying to be like Jesus. It was beautiful.
After after, Isabella was baptized. And oh my goodness the smile on her face, and Felix's face, that was priceless.
The happiness that comes from the gospel of Jesus Christ is indescribable, matchless, and yet free to all that choose it.
After that there was another really good talk from a woman in our ward and Isabella shared her testimony. She stood up, thanked everyone for coming, then addressed each of her non-member friends in the congregation by name, and told them to listen carefully. She than proceeded to share how God had been preparing her for this day for the past 24 years. Starting with experiences from when she was only three years old. She bore her testimony and said. "I know God has been guiding me all along and I know he'll continue to be with me always. I don't know what the future holds, but I know I don't have to worry about that anymore because I have the Holy Ghost with me always and I know that Heavenly father loves me," and yeah. The room was. silent. The spirit was so strong. We sang a hymn, said a prayer. And everybody just sat still for about ten minutes more after, just stunned. After people began breaking the silence, I turned to our friend Laura behind us and said, "What did ya think?" she just kept staring at the ground. After a long pause she said, "Wow." Søster Shults and I just nodded and I said, "I know."
She told us later that day that she thought it was all so beautiful, that you could see how much everybody cares, and that she could tell we have something special.
Some Elders in our mission called us that night to let us know that their friend that they brought with, who had only received one lesson at this point, asked them on the ride home how long it was going to take before he would be able to get baptized and have that same happiness.
One member referred to Isabella as a "kingdom builder" and that to me just puts it perfectly. This girl is special. God is already working through her to reach his other children. I am so happy and humbled to have been a part of her story.
I know that when we come unto Jesus Christ, through faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end we can obtain more happiness then ever imaginable. We can become the person that God wants to be. We receive the blessings that God desires to give us. We can achieve our divine potential and purpose. But hey, you don't have to take my word for it, you can instead just give your local missionaries a call and find out for yourself. Come and see.
