Week 46 - Han Elsker Mig

MOST IMPORTANT PART: Our friend Martin is on date to be baptized THIS SUNDAY. With all of the no-gathering laws being passed it has been hard to keep spirits up, but we know we can do it!!! PLEASE PRAY FOR MARTIN. We believe in miracles!

"But the laborer in Zion shall labor for Zion; for if they labor for money they shall perish,"
-2 Nephi 26:31

Hmm,, Welcome back to another episode of: søster Felt stares at the keyboard, and asks herself, "what the heck happened this week?"

Hmm.

Sister Webb and I are trying to be as creative as possible out here. We have offered free beginning Danish lessons over Skype, and have actually had a ton of people reach out to us who are interested.

We have been contacting a lot of old friends and teaching lessons to members over Skype.

We also got the chance to skype home and teach a lesson to our families this week! That was really cool. After meeting a lot of confused and sad kids it meant a lot to hear my siblings share they're knowledge of who God is and his plan for us.

Sister Webb and I made dinner for a lady in our ward. We made soup in a giant pot and left it on her doorstep. She returned the pot to our doorstep. The next day we found out that she and her family have the corona virus. That pot has been through bleach, handwipes, hand sanitizer, dish soap, and scolding water. It now remains banished in a corner where we gaze upon it in fear from time to time.

The walls are thin here, and our neighbors listen to a lot of Justin Bieber. So now, we never say never, bob our heads to love yourself, and rap to Boyfriend. We are considering it a blessing.

Everyone freaks out and is so excited when they hear sister Webb and I went to the same high school. One member, when we told them over the phone, reacted by swearing and exclaiming that "it's like a big slumber party!" Yes Frank. Yes it is.

Oh yeah, also we have to sisters from the Rødovre area coming to live with us. I guess President doesn't want companionships to kill each other during Quarentine or something cause he is making sure theres four missionaries in each apartment. Crazy times!

I am so happy to be here on my mission. I love the work, I love Jesus Christ, and I love helping others come closer to him. I love helping people learn about who God is. I know that God lives, loves you, and wants to answer your prayers. I know that if we have faith, he will!

Jeg ved at Gud lever. Jeg ved at han elsker dig, og ligesom det store i det gamle testamente, hans kærlighed blev vidste da han sendte sin søn til jorden.

Elsker jer!

Med kærlige hilsen,

A sister that hates long weeklies but makes them herself,

Week 45 - Thy Boys are Back

Hope everyone is doing well back home! This week was another crazy one. Heres the important points:

-Sister Jones and I made a treasure hunt! Set up clues and a Book of Mormon at the end, someone found it and texted us it went great!

-Sister Jones and her group got sent home (because of travel restrictions and what not) leaving us now with only a total of 13 sisters and 28 elders in the country.

-I am now comps with my old comp sister Webb!!

Best quotes of the week (points if you can guess which comp said what):

"He has a hard time focusing, you know, because of his ACDC,"

"Wait who is this guy Nicmo??"

"'What kind of car did you drive?' 'A Toyota Corona,'"

Elsker jer!!

Week 44 - The Jailhouse Rock

"Lad derfor jeres hjerter finde trøst med hensyn til Zion, for alt kød er i mine hænder; vær rolig og vid, at jeg er Gud,"
-Lære og Pagter 101:16

"Therefore, let your hearts be comforted concerning Zion; for all flesh is in mine hands; be still and know that I am God,"
-Doctrine and Covenants 101:16

As many of you probably already know, we are no longer permitted to go out and do missionary work as we normally would. Instead we are trying to be creative and find new ways to do missionary work from inside our apartment.

I'm working on a few projects. Some see this situation as a hindrance,, yet I see it as a craft-ertunity! *insert Andy Bernard singing 'rididididoo'* my work will make all of the pinterest using mom's and relief society counselors want to burn their former creations. It will impress the Danish people so much they will feel nothing but a strong compulsion to read the Book of Mormon (with the help of the spirit of course). I won't reveal just yet what I am working on, just know that glowsticks are involved.

We have had many lessons over facetime and phonecall which was super great. The work continues on!!

I'm thankful for you all and all of the encouraging emails! I can definitely use them as we spend A LOT of time inside haha!

I know President Nelson is a profet of God. I know if we follow his counsel we will have no need to worry-we will be watched over and the Lord will help us.

Have a great week! Elsker jer!

With fingers scratched from all the crafting og kærlige hilsen,

Week 43 - Rite of Spring

Bros I don't even know how to write about this week we were soooooo busy.

We taught a lot of good lessons, ate a lot of Ben and Jerry's, and listened to a lot of classical music. Luckily Sister Jones shares my deep appreciation for classical music, so she gets to stay. For now. We also teach and find wayyy good together. It's really nice.

I spoke in church on Sunday, we taught a lot of people, we accidentally walked into someone's house (we thought it was an apartment complex). We had mission leadership conference, where we at some cake and talked about missionary stuff.

We had a big blitz splits with the members in Ballerup,, I was with a girl named Lærke who recently returned from her mission in Peru! It was way fun. We had some success!!

Life is good! Some days are hard but I am happy to be here.

I know God hears and answers prayers:)

Elsker Jer, Med kærlige hilsen,

Week 42 - Long Live

Tuesday: Lesson with Rebecca!! Honestly one of the best lessons ever. She really opened up to us and told us about her concerns. We were able to help her and give her tips and answers from the scriptures and she took our answers very seriously! She is very believing and humble.

Wednesday: It SNOWWEDD!!!

Had a lesson with Maj. Not gonna lie it was way weird. I think she might have the Corona Virus, the woman was super sick. Don't worry mom I washed my hands. It was hard to be focused during the whole thing, as her chihuahuas were very much in love and she had no problem with them running around and barking all over the place. Paint whatever picture you want with that description. Things FINALLY settled down a bit when we watched the Restoration film together and bore testimony of it. Then a man just came barging into her house, grabbed a cup of coffee and plopped down onto the couch. The conversation went like this-
"What are these young ladies doing talking to this old lady?" -Johnny
"We're talking about God and Jesus Christ," -Maj
"Oh Explicit €&%$@!" -Johnny
*awkward silence*
"So are y'all Jehovah's Witnesses?"-Johnny
"No"-us
"Oh thank goodness!!"

And with that we carried on. The spirit was in and out with that one, but I think we ended on a good note.

Thursday: We had an eating appointment at a members house! This one was way special. It was with the member that we went finding with who doesn't speak much English. She made like WAY GOOD authentic Italian food. Oh my gosh those people do food so right. Luckily her husband speaks really good English, so we could talk to him. But we still made a big effort to involve Andreia in the conversation by speaking slowly and clearly. You should've seen how happy she was. The dinner was fun, and then after we shared a spiritual thought about feasting upon the words of Christ. We asked Andreia to read it in Spanish, and the spirit was so strong. Tears were shed, and she thanked us for everything we had done for her. She told us she was feeling very depressed when we started dropping by and asking her to come finding with us. But with us, she could feel the same spirit so strongly that she remembered what she needed to be doing to find happiness again. I'm going to miss her.

Friday: We thought it would be a day like any other day. We went for a run, ate some muesli for breakfast, and had a good personal study. Then to our suprise, during companionship study, president called. The day before transfers. I almost threw up. The news was that although last minute, he felt strongly that elders were needed in Herning. Thus, we must prepare the area and prepare ourselves for departure. ???!!??!?!?!? Its fine. I spent the rest of the day in a weird daze trying to get a hold of everyone and let them know what's going on and trying to get phone numbers, maps, keys, etc in order for the new elders.

We also helped out at the stables. We repaired an old fence and said goodbye to a few of our friends there.

Saturday: After 30 minutes of pretending to work out but actually just staring at the phone sister Paras decided enough was enough and went to take a shower. That was good news for me, considering that President times his calls just right and always happens to ring while one companion is in the bathroom. Ten minutes later, like clockwork, the phone rang. Good news! Sister Paras is going to Esbjerg and I am going to Slagelse!! I will be serving with Sister Jones. An old legend in the mission. My next door neighbors are sister Webb and sister Hepworth, so that will be so fun. And I will be back on Sjælland!!! Blessed sjælland. Needless to say I am pumped.

Sunday: We had Stake Conference! And our friend Katja came! Which was huge considering it's all the way out in Århus. One of the speakers was from our branch and she gave me a shout out from the stand, referencing my talk from last week about acting in faith, so that was awesome! #takHelle.
It was our last day in Herning, so we said Goodbye to Elder and Sister Blackham, Lisa, Arja, Andreia, and Celine. It was hard, not gonna lie.

I'm so excited to take on the new adventure in Sjælland! I know it's what I need and where I'm needed! I know God loves us and watches out for us every day.

Elsker jer bare så højt,
Søster Felt🇩🇰
