Week 72 - This Girl is on Fire

Everything is going good! We just had transfer calls and I'm staying in good ole Gladsaxe 2. Søster Curtis is header up to Fredericia and Søster DeLange and I are staying and getting søster Skousen. We're also still living in Copenhagen which is a total move.

**this next portion is my google translated section from my email to president***
Last Friday while we were out to contact through our Facebook workshop, it was raining insanely much. There were no people out and it felt very pointless to try. However, we knew it was something we had to do. Therefore, we were out in the awful rain, looking for someone to talk to.

"There's probably something we can do," I thought. All of a sudden I remembered a woman living right on the street we were walking on. She was someone I met with Sister Webb more than a year ago. She was also one that I did not want to visit, which I had tried many times before and saw no success. She is fighting against some bad force and I just felt annoying every time I had tried to reach out to her.

I wish I could say that I recognized those thoughts as an encouragement from Heavenly Father. But really I just wanted to get rid of this rain XD we went to the cake house and bought a loaf of wine for her (That was the last excuse I could think of to visit her). We "buzzed" on her apartment, and were surprised when she opened the door for us! We quickly went up the stairs and found her standing in front of her door. She seemed very sad. "It has not been a good day," she said. "I'm in a lot of pain, and I'm on Morphine,"

We gave her the wine bread and asked if we could pray with her. She nodded and it was clear that she had a great desire for it. We prayed a prayer that she would feel comfort and feel her Savior with her. (She is already a believer and Jesus means a lot to her). After the prayer, she had tears in her eyes. She thanked us and we left. Later we saw that she posted a picture on Facebook of her wine bread, she said she knew it was a response from God.

I know that this rain was meant to be and that God cares for His children.

We just talked with Mona at Institute and she is determined to make the 10th happen. She is doing really great! Keep her and his in your prayers.

Week 71 - September

Dictated from a voice recording that Corinne sent this week. (Thanks, Aunt Barbara!)

Hi Friends and Family. I just thought I would make a voice recording this week because my little fingers are just so tired of typing so I thought I’d give you the chance to hear the sweet sound of my voice on this p-day.

Anyways, this last week was a little bit of a hard week, it was a good one but it was still hard. We started out the week with all these appointments lined up. We had a great planning session. We had some service appointments with non-members, some eating appointments with members where their friends would come and we would teach them. The week looked so good and then about two days in, me and another sister got sick. So we had to cancel most of our appointments. We did do some things like Facebook finding. We did have splits which was fun. I was with Sister Hepworth which was fun.

Mona is doing good. We did get one lesson with her. She is doing good.

This is the last week of this transfer which is weird because it is my last transfer. Things are going good.

I had a cool experience earlier in the week where we had a video call lesson. I have been thinking about my testimony and stuff. We always say we know the church is true but sometimes we stop and think, “Wait, do I actually know. How do I know?” It feels crazy but it is proof as to why you have to keep going on it and reading your scriptures and praying so your testimony can stay strong, and doing the things every day so that when you do have questions you can get the answers to your prayers.

Anyways, I was having these questions so I was praying and thinking I know you have told me a billion times, but can you help me remember and tell me one more time that it is true. Just help me to know this is true and what I am doing is good. And He heard the prayer. It wasn’t immediate and I prayed it several times. Then we had a lesson with some critical people. It didn’t seem like they wanted to really wanted to be taught but just listen and then tell us why it was wrong which is kind of frustrating and annoying at times. We taught the restoration, about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. We talked a lot about Christ’s ministry and how that all ties in. It was a really good lesson with lots of questions and testifying that we can’t prove all this but we can invite you to come to know on your own. At the end one of the guy’s that it was his first lesson, said he had one more question. He asked, “Why are YOU a member of this church. Why? If you could just give me a short summed up answer. I don’t want anything big or fancy. Tell me why you are a member. Maybe you were born into it but you probably have a different reason now. I want to know why.”

We all looked at each other and thought how do we answer that. We know why. We obviously love it and we have had all these great experiences but how do I tell this person. It’s sometimes hard to express it and share it with people. I looked at my companions and they looked at me and I went first. I started talking. I realized that was the question I had been having all week and wondered how I was going to answer it so I just started talking. I was born into it and stayed in it because it was good. I had good experiences there and good things came from it. I was happy. My answer just came out of my mouth and I hadn’t even thought of it. I told him there came a time that I needed to find out for myself if it was true or not. So I did just like the promise we just read to you. To ponder over it and ask if it is true. You’ll come to know. I haven’t had one big solid experience but I have had many little experiences that have helped me to know that God is aware of me and this is the true church. I can’t prove it to you but I have received a very personal answer that this is the truth and because of that I am going to live this gospel for the rest of my life.

The spirit hit me so strong that there was the answer to my prayer. I don’t know if my answer had an impact on those we were teaching but I knew the spirit was telling me that this is true and you know it. And you need to stick with it.

It has been a good week and being a missionary is fun and really cool.

Week 70 - Mrs. Robinson

I ate pickled herring at an eating appointment this week. Actually not bad tbh👌 we ate with Ældste and Søster Nørrung, a senior couple in the mission from Danmark. They had invited a friend and it was fun to answer her questions and teach her a bit.

Mona is doing well. We had a good lesson with her and Mikala on Tuesday and she went to institute on Thursday. Still keep her in your prayers.

We also met a new friend, her name is Marlene, and sister Curtis met her over Facebook. She wanted us to come help her with her garden, but when we got there she said she wanted to just do it on her own, and let us in to teach her a lesson. Turns out she's actually way positive and "all in". We taught her the plan of Salvation and she loved hearing about it. We're excited to see where it goes with her.

We also did service for a really nice family in Lyngby.

Had a big sister splits on Jylland as well. I was with Sister Carter in Esbjerg and oh my gosh she is the cutest thing. We had so much fun and even talked to someone who is interested in hearing more.

Yesterday we had a ton of success out finding. Got two phone numbers and shared the first Vision with someone. Felt the spirit way strong when we did that, its kinda cool cause you always feel how true that is when you share it.

This week was jo dope. I know that God lives and loves his children. Have a good one!🤙

Week 69 - Blue Skies

Update om the Mona story: SHE IS ON DATE! Oktober 10th is the current plan. She is doing so good and is such a miracle. I thank the Lord for her in every prayer.

So since last week we've met with her three times and all three times she had tons of questions about baptism and just really accepted what we told her and the spirit was so strong, so we were able to pick a date with her! She's really dived into the Book of Mormon and she loved learning about the Plan of Salvation. This is such a blessing.

The first lesson was a short video chat where we read 3 Nephi 11. That went well and she was happy to read it with us. Next we met up in person and taught her the plan of Salvation and she had a lot of questions about Baptism, and even asked us if we could take a look at the font afterwards! We showed it to her and ended up asking her if this was something she wanted, and if she would do it if she knew this was all true. Her answer was yes!

Then on Sunday, she took us by surprise by coming to church way early. We came as fast a we could and didn't really have anything prepared and tried to pull a lesson together about fasting, but she wasn't having it. This girl wanted to talk about baptism. The spirit was punching me in the gut the entire time trying to tell me to pick a date with her,, but I wasn't able to get the words out until sister DeLange asked Mona if we could finish with a prayer😂 luckily she was understanding and didn't mind that I had interrupted her.

It's kind of throwing me for a loop how fast this is going, I've never experienced someone this eager to learn and act on it. It's kind of worried me sometimes, but I'm sure that as long as we pit our trust in the Lord and do what we know is right, it will all work out!

We also had another lesson with Robert this week. We read President Nelson's talk about preparing to enter the temple and he really enjoyed it. We're hoping that he'll make the choice to be motivated by this.

Fun fact about Robert: he only wears purple pants. All the time. At first I thought it was the same pair of purple pants, and then I realized that he in fact owns multiple pairs in many forms. Swear purple pants, purple pants skinny Jean's, long-John underwear looking purple pants- interesting guy. He's also vegetarian and owns a lizard that lives in a terrarium on his floor. So that's Robert.

I think he's also the neighborhood ice cream man. Because his freezer is always full of it and children always come by asking for ice cream. Haha so he is basically just your average old Australian man living in Denmark. Nothing out of the ordinary 🤷‍♀️

Welp thanks for tuning in folks. Remember us in your prayers; Keep Christ in your heart and a smile on your face!

Ej hvor skønt i er💗

Med kærlig hilsen,

Søster Felt
